You will laugh what is the name of the dust brush

For several years in a row, an assistant has been struggling for the cleanliness of the house - a bright, fuzzy vertical brush. Everyone knows that such a rainbow fluffy object easily copes with dust particles, but no one thought about its name. How well he is called and what other nominal names are given to him, we consider in this article.

How properly called dust brush

The brush was invented by Chinese manufacturers, but the name “has grown” from the Americans. The fact is that the thing for cleaning with its long pile and multicoloredness is similar to the American pompons (pom-pom or PP), which were used by the girls of the support group of the sporting event in their “minute” performances. However, this is only a similarity in appearance, and the functionality of a brush is akin to duster. Thus, innovation is called Ppduster.

It reached the Russian market without translating and transforming the name - pididaster. There is a version that abbreviated PP - translated as polypropylene (polypropylene). However, the brush is not always made from this material. Therefore, it will be better to stick to the first version.

What else is called a brush for dust

However, such a funny and incomprehensible name of the household equipment of many cleaners enters into a stupor. But traders of small household goods and the owners of this thing themselves use more acceptable names:

  • dust duster. An everyday name that defines the purpose of a thing. Understandable to all, especially the older generation;
  • brush dust collector. The name comes from the similarity with a brush on a long handle for cleaning plumbing from dirt and bacteria (toilet brush);
  • staticdaster. Perhaps the most logical name for a household item. The fact is that when rubbing with a brush over the surface between the artificial skin and pollution, static attraction arises. Particles of dust are attracted to the pile, and the cleaning effect is created.

Important! Dust is not disposed of furniture, namely it sits on a whisk, which, after cleaning, should be washed and dried. The technology is very convenient in places inaccessible to the hand with a rag and does not leave streaks on glossy surfaces. However, it is not mastered by multilayer and dense dust formations.

Of course, the most correct thing is to call things by their own name. But not always borrowed names take root in everyday life. It is more correct to indicate the current name of the item and the transcript. For example: "Pipidastr. Whisk for dust."
