Can I connect an electric guitar to the music center

Playing an electric guitar is a great option for a home hobby. However, it does not play “by itself” as an acoustic one — it must be additionally connected to the sound reproduction device. After buying an electric guitar, first of all you should think about what you will connect it through.

This can be done in several ways:

  • to telephone (for temporary connection only);
  • to the computer (recommended only for tuning the guitar and for playing in the most extreme cases);
  • to the music center (if the latter has the "AUX" or "VIDEO" function);
  • to combo amplifier ("combo").

Connecting through a guitar amplifier is the most correct option, but it is not available for everyone. If you have not yet decided whether you will continue to play the electric guitar professionally, for entertainment at home, or if this is just a passing desire, then it is better to stay at the best option - connecting to the music center.

 REFERENCE! However, if you don’t have it at home, there’s no point in acquiring it only for connecting an electric guitar. For the same money, you can take a simple combo.

How to connect an electric guitar to the music center

In order to connect you will need to follow a simple algorithm of actions:

  • Make sure that your music center supports the connection of third-party devices (there are outputs that are signed as "AUX" or "VIDEO");
  • Purchase a special adapter, on the one hand of which there is a small jack, on the other - two tulips.
  • Connect the tulips to the music center, and the mini-jack to the guitar.
  • Try out the sound.

REFERENCE! With such a connection, most likely, only one center column will work.

  • When connecting an electric guitar, it is also recommended to purchase a pedal - for the most comfortable sound control.
  • It is recommended to play at medium volume, since with an increase it is possible to increase rattling, background noise and other unpleasant background.
  • Do not forget that the music center was created to play music in high quality, that is, for the processed studio sound, and the actual sound of the electric guitar is completely different, so the output can not get the same sound as the combo amplifier would allow.

However, connecting through the music center is the best option for initial training or home games for fun.
