Sistemnik beeps and the monitor does not turn on

A computer is one of the most irreplaceable things in the modern world. In the age of technology, it is difficult to imagine your life without social networks, mail, instant messengers and Google. But, like all other equipment, computers tend to breakdowns and malfunctions. And we are talking not only about viruses and malicious files, but also about completely physical problems with hardware.

The most unpleasant moment is that most users do not know how to handle faulty equipment. Usually, people simply call the master to the house to deal with the breakdown. But what if access to a PC is urgently needed? It is for such cases that it will be useful to find out why the computer may beep and not turn on.

Why sistemnik squeaks, and the monitor does not turn on

First you need to figure out where and why the notorious food comes from and what it means.

The heart of the entire computer makes the characteristic sound - the motherboard. However, it is worth noting that not all components are equipped with a speaker - a microdynamic speaker that reproduces an audio signal. Therefore, you should not always expect a sound alert about a malfunction.

So what does a squealing sound signal mean? The fact is that when you turn on the system checks all its components for malfunctions. If the test was successful, and no errors were detected - you can hear a short single squeak. It notifies that everything is in order with the accessories.

But if during testing problems with the hardware were detected, the motherboard will notify the user of this by issuing appropriate sounds. A whole list of various signals, each of which has its own meaning, is hidden in the BIOS of your PC. A peculiar Morse code. Here are just a small part of the most common:

  • A continuous signal indicating a power supply failure.
  • A long repeating squeak signaling a problem with RAM.
  • One is long and two is short - a problem with the video card.

REFERENCE! But all these are signals from only one BIOS version. Therefore, in order to determine the malfunction of hearing alone will not be enough.

How to find the cause of a monitor malfunction + possible causes?

If you heard an ominous squeak, then you need to start acting. First of all, you will need to find out the version of your BIOS. The easiest way to do this is to open the technical documents on the motherboard. But if there are no useful papers at hand - you can always look at the BIOS version on its microcircuit.

Unscrewing the cover of the system unit, you will need to find a round battery on the board - it is so alone. It is next to her that most often is the coveted chip. A version is always written on its surface. The most common are Award, Phoenix and AMI.

Now, knowing the BIOS version and the sound that sounds, you only need to go online from your phone and find the decryption for your specific case. So you can easily understand the cause of the PC malfunction. The most common ones are:

  • Poorly fixed components, such as RAM or a video card.
  • Contact melted from overheating.
  • A large degree of contamination of certain sections of the block.
  • Swollen capacitors, oxidized or broken legs.

What to do?

And now you have identified the malfunction. You know with what component something was wrong, but what to do next? There are several options.

The first and most obvious one is to carefully remove the faulty components, clean its contacts with a dry brush, insert it back and restart the PC. It is possible that it was dirt or poor fasteners and the problem will be eliminated.

The second, no less simple option is to turn off the computer, wait a bit and turn it on again. It is possible that due to the surging voltage, the power supply simply could not give electricity to the problem module.

The last extreme case is to remove the BIOS battery and reinstall it in place. This will reset the BIOS and possibly solve the problem.

ATTENTION! Any manipulations with computer components should be performed only if you are sure that you will do everything correctly and accurately. Even the slightest scratch can make the whole system unusable.

If none of the above helped, you will have to call a specialist at home or carry the system unit to a service center.
