What does TV consist of?

The desire to somehow implement the transfer of various images at any distance existed in ancient times. But for a long time it was only possible in fairy tales. The first attempts to create a device for transmitting images were made in 1843. Today, advances in the production of TV sets are amazing.

A television is a device that transmits visual and audio information from various media. Not so long ago, their assortment was very small, and there was no talk of varieties. Selected by the principle - color or black and white. But scientific and technological progress does not stand still and at the moment there is a fairly large selection of TVs that differ in many respects. There are nine varieties in total. It:

  • with a cathode ray tube CRT;
  • with rear projection RP;
  • projection DLP;
  • with LCD display;
  • PDP plasma panels;
  • with LED backlight;
  • with a resolution of 4K;
  • with Smart - TV function;
  • DVB T2.

They differ according to the principle of image formation and the available functions.

Whatever the screen and functions, the main components, as well as the principle of operation, will be the same. Components include:

  • a device for transmitting an image - a kinescope, a plasma or liquid crystal panel (matrix);
  • a board containing a television tuner, decoders, amplifying video and audio signals;
  • case - it contains all the connectors, control unit and speakers.

Principle of operation:

  1. A signal is sent to an antenna connected to the corresponding connector on the chassis. After that, the received signals are sent to the tuner, where they are amplified and converted into sound and image.
  2. The signal with the image is processed by the color module and converted to the desired image format, for example, PAL.
  3. The audio signal is also amplified, converted from an electrical signal into an acoustic sound and fed to the speakers.

Kinescope TV device

This species has been ubiquitous for many years. Despite the fact that they are inferior to modern models by the availability of various functions and image quality, they have a significantly longer life and much lower cost.

The image on these models is carried out using a cathode ray tube. She, as it were, shoots streams of rays that fall on a screen covered with a layer of phosphor. Streams are divided into lines that appear in turn on the screen. In just a second you get 25 lines - frames. The resulting image integrity is determined by the structural features of the human nervous system. The larger the screen, the more visible the flickering of the drawn stripes.

Despite their size and lack of additional features, they are still in steady demand.

REFERENCE! Kinescope TV receivers for children's rooms are especially popular, as they are very difficult to drop due to their heavy weight.

Features of LCD TV receivers

At the moment they are the most popular. The devices come in different sizes, while they are very light, thin, do not take up much space, reproduce a high-quality picture and have a large number of functions.

The panels of these receivers consist of two layers of polarized glass that are glued together. A special viscous liquid, consisting of molecules arranged in a strict order, polarizes glass under the influence of an electric field and light rays.

The device and features of plasma panels

They are the second most popular after LCD receivers. They succumb to the fact that they do not have small diagonals, consume a significant amount of electricity and become very hot.

Image formation is carried out due to the effect of ultraviolet radiation on the phosphor particles. An electric discharge passes through a gas - xenon and neon, due to which a peculiar plasma corridor is obtained. Semiconductors are located on the inner surface of the panel, with the help of which the image is scanned.

LED TV device

These devices are a type of LCD - receivers. They differ in that the backlight is provided by LEDs. Diodes can be located around the entire perimeter of the matrix or along its sides. Due to them, such devices give a very clear picture, on which there is completely no flicker.

Features of the device digital DVB - T2

There are several standards for broadcasting a television signal:

  • analogue
  • digital;
  • satellite.

In order for the TV to play the desired signal, a tuner is installed that will meet the accepted standard.

DVB-T2 tuners allow you to view a digital signal. Now it is the most common, so these decoders are installed on all produced models.

REFERENCE! Cathode ray tube televisions are generally not equipped with a digital decoder.

SMART-TV device

If more recently, cell phones were striking in their functionality, as from conventional means of communication, they have become a multidisciplinary device. Now this way is being repeated by TV receivers. From a conventional device for playing video and audio, they have become a self-contained entertainment center. The name Smart TV can be translated as "smart TV." The technology consists in combining the functions of television and the Internet. Such smart receivers are made on the basis of LCD or plasma TVs. They additionally install the operating system, Wi-Fi modem, browser, store with various applications, movies and programs for listening to music.

The assortment of TV receivers presented at the moment allows you to choose the optimal model with all the necessary parameters.
