Gas boiler in a private house - the main varieties

There are two types of gas boilers. It:

  • Wall mounted. Such units take up very little space and are used to heat small spaces.

Installation requirements

First you need consent to the installation of gas equipment. To do this, you must contact GorGaz, write a statement and provide the following documents:

  • a project including a connection scheme to the central city highway;
  • technical passport of the selected unit;
  • instructions for use;
  • The conclusion of the expert commission on the suitability of the equipment.

Requirements for the premises

  • The height of the room should be at least 2.2 meters.
  • A minimum of 1 meter must be left between the gas unit and the walls. This is necessary for inspection and maintenance of equipment by GORGAS employees.
  • The presence of ventilation. When installing it, it should be borne in mind that the air in the room should completely change 3 times in one hour.
  • The front door should lead strictly to the street. This requirement cannot be ignored, as many do. The fire inspection, which will carry out a mandatory inspection, will issue a warrant and will have to redo the doorway.
  • Fresh air must be supplied only from the street.
  • All furnishings of the boiler room must be made of non-combustible materials, for example, tiles or plaster.
  • The place should not be wet.
  • Do not install in a living room.
  • It is necessary to protect the boiler room from other living rooms with partitions of increased strength and fire resistance.
  • Materials that will be used in the construction of a room with gas equipment must withstand direct fire for at least 45 minutes.
  • The area of ​​equipment installation sites is calculated based on the capacity of the equipment.
  • In the boiler room must be equipped with water supply.
  • The wiring is only of a hidden type, and it is also necessary to equip the ground.
  • If the floor gas boiler has a sufficiently large weight, a solid floor must be made under it.
  • The chimney must be of coaxial type. In this way, complete tightness is achieved.

NOTE! For installations with a capacity of less than 30 kW, the boiler room area is at least 7 m2. If the power is up to 60 kW, it is equal to 13 m2. Over 60 kW - 15 m2 and more.

Basement gas boiler room requirement

Previously, it was forbidden to equip boiler rooms in socles. However, recently it has become possible due to the transition to propane, which is in a gaseous state. Now in the basement is allowed to install a gas boiler. Only the power of the equipment is limited, it should not exceed 200 kW. It is only necessary to comply with all the requirements attributed to Sanpin.

As a rule, the equipment of the boiler room in a private house does not cause difficulties. All the necessary requirements are quite easy to fulfill. You only need to build a boiler room that meets all the prescribed standards.

Installation in the apartment causes a number of difficulties. The most suitable place for this is the kitchen. To install a gas boiler in it, you need to comply with certain requirements. It:

  • Only a hinged gas boiler with a closed combustion chamber is allowed to be installed in the kitchen. Now it is possible to purchase boiler models that heat rooms and at the same time serve as a water heater. This is a very convenient and practical choice.
  • To increase ventilation, on the front door you need to make a window, taken away by the grill.
  • The area of ​​the premises should be at least 7 meters.
  • Walls made of plywood or drywall are not suitable for installation.
  • Around the equipment and under it you need to place heat-resistant sheets.
  • You also need to leave a space between the boiler, ceiling, floor and walls, at least half a meter.

Important! Independent connection, especially to central highways, is strictly prohibited. The first setup should be done by a specialist.
