Printer status disabled how to enable

In our time, print work has become an integral part of the existence of any company and organization. Even in the house we use paper carriers of information. They are required for archiving, reporting and documentation. However, with the rapid pace of life, the need for printing and the volume of various documents have increased significantly.

Printer off

In order to implement the normal quality and performance of printed documents, mankind has created various printing devices. Nowadays, printers are used to perform this task. They may differ significantly in the materials used in the manufacture, in the way they function, in the product design, but the main function in using them is to ensure fast and high-quality conversion of information from the electronic format (stored in computer system files) into a printed form.

If you have recently purchased a printer and are just starting your familiarity with the equipment, you should carefully study the instructions and operating instructions supplied with the main set of the purchased equipment. But in these documents it is not always possible to find answers to the questions of interest, they contain only a standard set of actions and instructions for connecting the equipment for normal operation.

For more information, you should read the various sites on the Internet. Today we will talk about one of the possible problems in the performance of printing documents. It will be about program crashes, in which the value is set to "disabled" even when the network is turned on.

Under normal conditions, the system issues a warning and sets the status of the disabled state when the equipment is turned off from the power source and in the absence of connection to the computer. However, sometimes there are failures leading to the establishment of this status even with properly connected equipment.

Usually, when this error occurs, the user tries to turn on the equipment or reboot it, it does not help to fix problems and restore access to printing. In this case, most often the mode “offline” is assigned to several devices at once. If several machines in a large office send files to the print queue, but the work is not done, the most likely reason may be as follows:

  • Software disruption of the printing process, failure in the settings for removing information or the defeat of the system by a virus.
  • Mechanical damage to the interior of the structure. This reason is relevant in case of failure of one printer, in case of multiple failure most likely the problem is in the system parameters.
  • A paper jam or lack of paint (in inkjet versions), powder (in laser versions) can also lead to the termination of work. The program automatically protects the equipment from further damage.

IMPORTANT: When attempting to install a printer, the system may give an error number 0xc0000005. This indicates the current mode "offline".

Do not rush into the settings to change the installation settings. This can only complicate the situation. First perform the following manipulations:

  • Check all the wires, the reliability of their connections, possible defects and chafing of the case.
  • Try to completely turn off the equipment, after a few minutes to reconnect the equipment. In most modern systems, automatic diagnostics and troubleshooting occurs during the last session.
  • Assess the condition of the ink level, look inside the case to detect jammed pieces of paper. If you have these problems, fix them, replace the components.
  • Also check for defects and mechanical damage to the internal components.

In most cases, the steps described above help to cope with the problem. But sometimes the reason is a system crash program. In this case, the principle of action will be significantly different. To troubleshoot and configure the installation instructions for Windows 10:

  1. Use the start button on the desktop or on the keyboard to enter the main menu.
  2. Then enter the name of the printer model in the search bar. You can open the list of devices in the standard way through the "control panel", "devices and printers".
  3. Find the necessary equipment from the list and find out the basic information about it. Make sure that it is set to "default" for printing files.
  4. In the dialog box with information about the state of technology, remove the checkmarks from the items of the deferred printing and offline mode.
  5. Restart the print service in the appropriate section of the menu. To do this, enter the "services.msc" command in the "Run" (Win + R) window.
  6. Try updating the drivers, additionally install utilities to automatically troubleshoot problems.

If you have a need to return the settings or put the device in the "offline" mode, simply follow the entire procedure in the reverse order. To do this, go to the “Devices and Printers” section, select the required type of equipment and uncheck the “default” value set earlier. After that, carefully disconnect the mated equipment, and then turn it off from the power source.
