How to make wireless from wired headphones

Headphones are very popular among many. For the convenience of users, manufacturers produce a variety of accessories that differ in their characteristics and design features. The most popular are wireless devices. Due to the fact that due to the lack of extra wires, such accessories are very convenient to use, they are used both at home and during training, as well as just on walks and in public transport. However, the cost of such products is slightly higher than that of conventional accessories. Many people ask the question: "Is it possible to make a wireless one with a conventional headset?"

To independently make a wired accessory wireless, you will need:

  • ordinary wired headset;
  • Bluetooth adapter
  • Charger.

REFERENCE! To ensure operation, a charger and a battery with a small capacity are enough!

A Bluetooth adapter is a device that looks like a USB flash drive. You can buy it in a specialized electronics store or in the online store. The main thing is to get a product with the required characteristics. Pay attention to the following:

  1. Bluetooth version should not be less than 3.0. The higher the technology, the higher the product’s characteristics, such as: data transfer speed, optimal distance for the connection, power consumption and others. Do not forget about the version of Bluetooth that is used on the external device. The best option would be if they match.
  2. It is worth paying attention to the codecs that are used by the technology. There are three of them, and only one of them provides the highest quality data transfer - AptX.

When all the materials necessary for assembly are purchased, you can proceed to remake the headphones into wireless ones.

Assembly steps:

  1. First you need to fully charge the adapter. To do this, connect it to a portable charger. If everything is done correctly, the blue indicator on the Bluetooth adapter will light up.
  2. After it is fully charged, you should connect it to the headphones.
  3. On the device to which you plan to connect, open the Bluetooth interface and find in it the adapter connected to the stereo headset.
  4. Then you should connect the devices and start listening to music or watching videos.

ATTENTION! If the resulting design seems unnecessarily cumbersome, then you can fix it on the device using a regular clamp.

If you have an old failed Bluetooth headset, you can make a more accurate version of wireless headphones. To do this, you need:

  • broken or unnecessary headset;
  • headphones;
  • soldering iron.

Assembly steps:

  • the broken headset should be carefully disassembled and the board removed from it;
  • if there is a place to place the board, then you should place it inside, in case of absence - fix it on the case;
  • the portable microphone on the headset has a built-in charger - it also needs to be transferred to the headphones, placing in such a way that the charging connector is on the outside of the product.

ATTENTION! When using an old headset, you do not need to purchase a portable charger.

The resulting product cannot be called full-fledged wireless headphones, because their wires remain in place. However, connecting it to a smartphone with their help will no longer be required. Do not forget about the limited data transfer range of Bluetooth technology.

In compliance with the technology and the right adapter, it’s quite simple to make wireless headphones on your own, while the costs will be minimal.
