How to understand that the paint in the printer is over

When working with a printer, an important issue is the regulation of the ink level and its condition. Most often, the problem may occur in two cases: with active use and with prolonged stagnation of the equipment. In the first variant, you may not notice how the cartridge resource was completely used up during the printing process; this usually happens in large offices and enterprises with high work rates.

There is another situation when the ink dries in the nozzles, and the print heads can not provide an image on the paper. This usually happens at home when equipment is used very rarely. In both cases, it is important to identify the cause in time and diagnose the condition of the printer for quick print recovery. In our article, we will look at these points, suggest diagnostic methods and possible troubleshooting options. So how do you know if the paint in the printer is over?

IMPORTANT: These problems have significantly different solution methods, so it is necessary to understand the source of the fault correctly.

First, consider the most common option when the ink in the cartridge ends. Usually, when the ink level is low, the program automatically displays a warning in the dialog box. Read the information on the main page and follow the instructions to restore work.

If the warning did not come out, but printing is not performed at that, you should use the manual diagnostic method. In this case, do the following manipulations:

  1. Observe the quality of the printed sheet. With a lack of ink, the image becomes pale, and some fragments are not displayed.
  2. If the program does not provide information, you should go to the menu and check the status of the cartridge. To do this, go to the "Start" menu, then find the model in the "Devices and Printers" section. Click the status display button.
  3. You can check the amount of ink remaining using a special program installed with a set of drivers on a computer.
  4. Also, in some versions there are special buttons on the display of the printer to display information about the ink.
  5. Some models use a transparent case, so you can assess the state by looking at the ink inside the element.

IMPORTANT: Sometimes the system mistakenly gives a warning about a low level of ink in the cartridge. This can occur when using a non-native element or when refilling. Some models work only with native elements and inks.

In some cases, the problem may be dried paint on the nozzles. In case of malfunction this problem is not easy to immediately identify. You must inspect and pay attention to the following points:

  • Remember the last time you typed on a printer. Usually the paint can dry out with prolonged stagnation.
  • Log in to view ink levels. You can do this using the method described above.
  • Open the top cover, look inside the case of equipment. Perform an inspection, paying attention to the printing machines.

When dry ink is detected, automatic or manual cleaning is required.
