Linoleum production

Choosing a floor covering for any room, most people choose linoleum - this material is inexpensive, quite simple to lay and subsequent care. A huge selection of colors and patterns make it possible to choose a floor covering that can fit into any design of the room. During the selection, it is necessary to take into account the expected load on the coating, as well as its life.

Production process

Today there are several manufacturing options:

  1. Extrusion.
  2. Roller-calender.
  3. Promotional.

The latter method consists in applying the molten plastic in a single layer onto the fabric base. Various additives and plasticizers are already in the solution. After that, the product is sent under the press. At this stage, the manufacture is completed.

The second way is to mix PVC with mineral additives, multi-colored pigments and cork flour. Then this composition is applied to a coarse mesh base (the fabric base is most often used), all layers are processed by shafts. Ready linoleum is covered with acrylic and dried.

The technology for manufacturing material using extrusion consists of the following sequence:

  1. Mixing the polyvinyl chloride composition, adding the required components.
  2. The manufacture of the lower layer. The choice of fabric base or the manufacture of a foamed substrate.
  3. The fastening of all layers of the future product in the extruder is a special machine that is used to plasticize the material and give the corresponding structure.
  4. Smoothing the material and finally fixing the form on the calender.
  5. Artificial shrinkage in a thermal chamber and further cooling.
  6. Cutting, unwinding on product rolls and packaging.

Equipment for manufacturing significantly affects the quality of the future product. Most often, German machines are used, which make the linoleum manufacturing process automated from the laying of raw materials to the production of finished products, but the cost of the material is quite high.

Mixing rollers and ironing calendars are also used. The first are required to create a plasticizer and to heat the composition for further processing on extruders and special machines.

The rollers have several heating elements - a special liquid or electricity is used as a thermal carrier.

Also, the rollers can be additionally equipped with various options:

  • speed regulation;
  • power sensors;
  • preservation of technological production in the memory of the machine;
  • electronic control panel.

Reference! The calender works simultaneously with the press. This equipment is required for gluing the top surface and base of linoleum. In addition, it stretches the coating, and can also give the desired shape.

What plants produce linoleum

Among the many different manufacturers, the most popular are the following:

  1. Forbo is a manufacturer from Switzerland. Ecological cleanliness is the main advantage of the manufacturer. Forbo makes Marmoleum linoleum using natural materials. This approach gives the product a long operating time (at least 35 years), increased heat capacity and antibacterial qualities.
  2. Tarkett is a company with an ideal reputation. All linoleum production is focused on impeccable aesthetics and safety of finished products. All rolls are produced using multi-layer technology. Almost all collections have silver in their composition, which prevents dust from entering.
  3. Armstrong - linoleum is characterized by increased wear resistance, strength, heat and sound insulation. All products are manufactured on modern European equipment. Armstrong linoleum can be purchased in different variations: from domestic to industrial use.
  4. All products from Grabo are distinguished by the use of fiberglass in linoleum. This increases strength and increases operating time. Design decisions of the collections of the manufacturing plant are rather unusual. Most often here you can see the classics - the flooring is made for ceramics, parquet, laminate. The company produces a special line for the kitchen, living room, children's room.
  5. Gerflor is a manufacturing company from France. The brand is distinguished by a scientific approach to the manufacture of its products. All products are developed taking into account the latest technological achievements in this industry.
  6. All collections of flooring under this brand are characterized by a long life cycle, a specially developed protective layer that prevents the surface from fading, its abrasion and decomposition.

Attention! Linoleum from these manufacturing plants can be used for any type of premises, it can perfectly cope with increased loads, has all the certificates and is completely environmentally friendly.

List of factories in Russia

Many consumers when choosing linoleum most often pay attention to the products of foreign manufacturers. It is believed that this material is better in quality than Russian-made linoleum and, accordingly, it has a higher price. But given the current development trends of the domestic market - this is completely wrong. Here is a list of leading companies in this area:

  1. Enterprise "TarkettRus".
  2. Factory "Techno Tex".
  3. Company "Yenisei"
  4. Uralspectrans
  5. Shchelkino linoleum.

All described varieties of linoleum are suitable for laying under the base of a warm floor. If you choose the most economical option, then it is best to purchase PVC products. Do not forget that the most expensive is natural linoleum, but in this way you can get the most durable flooring, which perfectly retains its performance.
