There are times when you need to block YouTube on a TV. Most often, when there are small children in the house who can use the Internet. Video hosting has a huge amount of videos, the content of which may be inappropriate for children. That is why I block the whole YouTube or individual channels.

The activation method is different for different models of the device (the instructions should indicate how to activate it). Parental control allows you to block some channels on the hosting. For example, in the control settings, we set the lock on all 18+ channels. This means that the child will be able to watch the video on YouTube, but in order to enter such a channel he will have to enter a pin code.

The next function is breaks in use. For example, you allowed your son to sit 4 hours a day, but after each hour he should take breaks of 30 minutes. Settings allow you to do this (after an hour of use, the Internet will be unavailable for 30 minutes).

Another feature is blocking on certain days. For example, a child is allowed to sit on YouTube for 2 hours on weekdays, and 3 on weekends.

The next function is data transfer control. The child may not know all the things on the Internet, and accidentally send any files to unauthorized persons. Parental controls will block the transfer of selected files.

And the last function is the control of downloaded files. You can block the ability to download the following:

1. Any video from YouTube.
2. Only from specific channels or a specific list.
3. Files of a specific format. For example, you allow your son to watch cartoons and listen to music, but you do not want him to spend time on games. You can block the ability to download games.
