Can I put the TV on the fridge

In many houses and apartments, the kitchen is not only a place for cooking, but also a real family hearth, the "center of life." In order to make spending time in the kitchen not only useful, practical, but also interesting, there are many devices and gadgets. The TV firmly took its place among them. However, the size of the kitchen space of an average Russian family rarely allows you to allocate enough space for a television stand or table. The solution for many in this situation is to place the TV on the refrigerator. Can I put the equipment on the fridge? How this is rational and permissible will be discussed in this article.

What is electromagnetic radiation?

Any household appliance powered by electricity, to one degree or another, generates electromagnetic waves of different frequencies. Their negative impact on humans is a constant subject of research and debate among scientists. Some believe that electromagnetic radiation from modern household appliances is minimized and is not capable of causing significant harm to human health. Others are sure that this problem cannot be ignored and underestimated.

Experts believe that the location on the refrigerator is not the best idea, since, being a source of electromagnetic radiation, these devices can harm and reduce the quality of each other's work. This is due to the fact that the range of electromagnetic waves emitted by such a technique coincides, which can lead to malfunctions in the operation of devices.

IMPORTANT. In addition to all of the above, such a "neighborhood" can lead to increased energy consumption.

Design parameters

In addition to electromagnetic radiation, it is not recommended to place this equipment on the refrigerator for a number of reasons. These include an increase in the load on the refrigeration unit. This is due to the fact that located on top, it will impede the full circulation of air along the rear wall of the refrigerator. In turn, this will lead to a decrease in ventilation and blowing of the case and overheating of the refrigerator parts, as a result of which its engine will start more often than it should. Another reason is the vibration that accompanies the operation of the refrigerator. Amplification of vibration occurs when the refrigerator engine starts or stops. As a result of this, interference may occur in the operation of the equipment, manifested by flashing or twitching of the image on the display. If this phenomenon occurs constantly, the load on the user's eyesight will increase, which will lead to discomfort and eye fatigue. It is also worth considering the weight of the TV located on the refrigerator.

A heavy device can lead to deformation of the case, subsidence of the refrigerator lid, which can further negatively affect the functionality of the device and make it necessary to repair it. If we are talking about modern, lightweight models of televisions with a liquid crystal display, then placing them on the refrigerator is also not a good idea. The fact is that such models, as a rule, do not have a sufficiently stable foundation. If you constantly open and close the refrigerator, such a TV may become loose and fall.

How to position the equipment

When choosing the correct location for the TV in the kitchen, the following simple rules should also be followed.

  • Do not place the appliance near the sink. Liquid on the surface of the TV can not only cause equipment failure, but also cause an accident.
  • No need to put the TV next to heat sources (electric or gas stove, heating radiator, etc.). You should also protect it from direct sunlight. This will avoid overheating and premature wear of the device parts.
  • When choosing a TV for the kitchen, it is better to give preference to models of medium sizes (up to 20 inches). Such a TV can easily fit even into a small kitchen, without causing unnecessary trouble and inconvenience to the owners.
  • The TV should not be placed too high. The optimal height should not exceed two meters, otherwise the user will experience discomfort when viewing due to the extra load on his vision and cervical spine.

IMPORTANT. Place the TV so that there are no dangling wires from it that are easily touched by negligence. The same goes for a TV set-top box or antenna.

Modern manufacturers of household appliances offer models of refrigerators with built-in LCD TVs. This technique is convenient, ergonomic and saves space in the kitchen, however, it costs an order of magnitude more expensive than its counterparts purchased separately. The home appliance market also offers refrigerators with an available opening for installing a TV. You just need to choose a device that is suitable in size. To do this, it is better to contact the specialists of a household appliance store. A good solution would be to place in a special niche provided in the kitchen. In this case, you will need to install a shelf under the device in the opening and consider the close location of the outlets. Another solution is wall mount with a special bracket. Of course, only modern LCD TVs are suitable for these purposes. This method is not expensive. You just need to find the free space on the wall of the appropriate size.

If all of the above methods are not suitable, and the TV in the kitchen is very necessary, you can place it on the refrigerator. There are no categorical prohibitions on this, and specialists of service centers claim that there have been no cases of breakdown of household appliances due to negative effects on each other.
