Parquet bleaching: before and after photos

During operation, the parquet loses its aesthetic appearance. Cracks and defects appear, the color changes. But the material can be whitened. This will allow the parquet to return to its original state, and give it a beautiful shine.

Parquet bleaching rules

There are several products suitable for whitening parquet.

  1. White stain. Suitable if we need to light the surface. It has a sparing effect. The disadvantages of this method are the lack of a protection layer. Therefore, it is also necessary to apply varnish.
  2. Wood bleaching paint. This paint is water-based specifically for this material. The method is suitable if you want to save the texture of the material.
  3. Quick-drying varnish. Suitable if we need an impermeable and durable coating.
  4. Parquet oil. Gives the floor a natural matte finish.
  5. Wax for whitening. It is able to give the floor a delicate shine and white tint. Keeps a natural pattern. Wax protects the material well from dirt.
  6. Alkali for wood. Suitable for materials from pine, spruce, maple, ash and birch.

What will whitening parquet

Whitening has the following advantages:

  1. You can change the tone of the material.
  2. Protecting the floor from physical damage.
  3. The ability to hide defects, if any.
  4. The floor becomes smooth. It's nice to walk on it.
  5. Aesthetic appearance.
  6. Lacquered floor reflects light well.
  7. The varnish can serve as a mirror, namely to visually increase the space.

Important! Parquet looks like new. Even after 20 years of operation, bleaching will recreate the original appearance.

Step-by-step whitening of parquet: before and after photos

The whitening process will vary depending on the method selected.

The stain is applied as follows:

  1. Take a cotton cloth or brush.
  2. Apply a stain.
  3. We are waiting for the floor to dry. It takes a few hours.
  4. Grind irregularities with sandpaper.
  5. We remove dust from the floor.
  6. Apply varnish. We wait until it dries.
  7. Apply a second coat of varnish.

The bleaching paint is applied as follows:

  1. Take a roller, spray or soft brush.
  2. We apply 1 or 2 layers with an interval of about 10 hours.
  3. We wait until it dries.

To apply varnish, do the following:

  1. Take a roller, flat or oval brush.
  2. Apply 1 coat of varnish. We are waiting for at least 5 hours.
  3. To make the coating smooth, sanding is carried out.
  4. We remove the dust.
  5. Wipe the surface with a wet cloth.
  6. Apply a second coat of varnish.

To apply oil you need:

  1. Take a roller, staple or brush.
  2. We are waiting for complete drying. It takes 2 weeks.
  3. The second layer is not needed.
  4. Tools that were used must be washed in water. The oil is highly flammable.

Wax is applied as follows:

  1. We use the same tools as in the case of oil.
  2. We wait 2 weeks until completely dry.

To apply alkali you need:

  1. The substance can harm a person, therefore we put on protection.
  2. Take a brush or cloth based on cotton.
  3. We apply the tool. We wait until it dries.
  4. Grind the surface. Apply a layer of oil.
