Hair clippers are often used at hairdressers and at home. They help the master to create an original image of the client, while at home they help to do a simple hairstyle, saving the family budget.

How is a hair clipper

The internal structure and principle of operation of devices depends on the type of engine:

• vibrational;
• rotary.

Vibrating motor based on the work of an electromagnetic coil, which under the influence of alternating current creates a vibration of the pendulum moving the knives of the machine. The power of such engines is 9-15 W, which ensures quiet operation, but does not allow them to work for more than 20 minutes.

The main parts (Fig. 1):

• Cutting block (1).
• Pendulum (2).
• Transformer coil (3).
• Transformer (4).

Rotary tools contain an electric motor with an eccentric driving the blade. They are distinguished by high power, up to 50 watts. Additionally, a rechargeable battery can be integrated.

The composition of such an apparatus includes (Fig. 2):

• Cutting block (1).
• Eccentric (2).
• Electric motor (3).
• Battery (4).

What parts does the hair clipper consist of

The design of the machines is a housing on which the power button is located, as well as regulators for additional nozzles. Nozzles allow you to perform a haircut with a certain hair length from 1 to 30 mm.

• The cutting unit consists of two knives, one of which is stationary.
• Inside the case there is an engine of the device, providing movement of the knife of the machine.
• Some models are equipped with rechargeable batteries, so a charging unit is included in the package.

Important!

Vibrating devices have fixed knives, which makes it difficult to clean them.

What materials can a hair clipper be made of

Service life and usability are associated with the materials of which the components of the devices are made.

• Knives are made of ceramic, stainless steel with titanium, diamond or carbon coating.
• The titanium coating is hypoallergenic, which eliminates the appearance of irritation on the skin.
• Carbon and diamond spraying provide an accurate cut of stiff hair with both dry and wet hair cutting methods.
• Steel parts may become hot during operation. The ceramic coating does not heat up and retains the sharpening of knives longer than steel, but it is quite brittle, it can crack when dropped.

The body of hair clippers is mainly made of plastic. For ease of use, the handle is made out with rubberized inserts.
