How to insert a bobbin into a sewing machine

A direct impact on the quality of sewing is provided by a correctly tucked bobbin into the sewing machine. Many beginning masters are scared of this process. However, there is no difficulty if you strictly follow the manual.

One of the main parts in the sewing machine is the bobbin case. He must always be in good condition and in perfect condition. Its surface should be smooth. After all, even a slight flaw can lead to deformation of the line. It can be either skipped stitches or a broken thread. During sewing, the upper thread pulls the lower thread, which is located in the bobbin case. Both threads are intertwined with each other resulting in stitches.

ATTENTION!The degree of tension of the thread is influenced by the weight of the bobbin, as well as the material from which it is made. The plastic product will be much easier to slide inside the mechanism, unlike the metal one.

First you need to prepare the machine. Consider this process in stages:

• It is very important to raise the needle to the upper position. To do this, turn the handwheel towards you. It is also advisable to disconnect the machine by turning off the main control button. If necessary, move the presser foot lever up.
• Next, take out the bobbin case. To do this, open the lid and push the valve. Then pull the bobbin constipation towards you and gradually, as it loosens, completely remove the product.

Start work by winding the bobbin. To do this, it is necessary to install it not a special pin, which is located on top of the device. It should be ensured that the thread from the pin is unwound strictly counterclockwise. Repeat the following steps:

• First you need to unwind a little thread and circle it through the disk tensioner. Most often it is located on the opposite side of the reel, approximately above the needle. A small wire piece that holds the thread can also be attached to it.
• Next, draw the tip into one of the recesses on the bobbin. Next, make a couple of revolutions for initial fixing. Many stores offer a choice of already refilled bobbins.
• Then I install the bobbin on a winder, which also has the appearance of a small pin and is located near the pin for the reel.
• Next, fix the bobbin in the position for winding. To do this, either the pin is shifted to the right, or the latch to the left. If everything is done correctly, a small sound should be heard.
• To start the winding process, press the pedal of the machine or a special button on its body. After a few revolutions, it is better to stop temporarily to cut off the sticking tip with scissors.
• Fill the entire part with thread. The device usually stops by itself. Sometimes this process is better tracked.
• Return the latch to its previous position. The bobbin is ready for further work.

After the device has been prepared, the upper thread is inserted and the thread is wound around the bobbin, and the bobbin replacement process should begin. In modern devices, there can be a shuttle of both vertical and horizontal type. The vertical version is more familiar. It is used both in production and in budget sewing devices. The horizontal type is most often the more expensive electronic cars. It is considered more convenient and may have a transparent cover, which allows you to see the bobbin and the work of the lower thread. It is also convenient to track possible problems.

If everything is done correctly and according to the instructions, then the machine is ready for work. Consider this process in stages:

• Place the bobbin in the cap and thread the tip of the thread into the notch on the cap. Therefore, before inserting the bobbin, several centimeters should be unwound.
• The bobbin case is held during refueling so that the hook from the lock rests on the human thumb.
• The part is put in place and the free end of the thread is pulled into the groove of the cap. It should get into the spring terminal and exit through a special recess of the thread line.
• Then grab the cap by the shutter and place it in the clipper. When it is placed in its place, the latch can be released. It should sit tightly in the device and not turn.
• Next, scroll the flywheel towards yourself so that the needle makes a couple of the usual moves. As a result, the upper and lower threads should connect and a large loop is obtained at the output.
• The resulting loop is untied, the upper and lower threads (about 15 cm) are pulled out and sent to the foot.

Next, check the thread tension. In modern devices, there are special regulators of thread tension. In general, the threading process may vary between devices. In most cases, there are detailed schemes and descriptions of refueling. In addition, the elements are arranged in such a way that it is easy to guess the meaning of further actions. Certain difficulties arise more often on manual control mechanisms.
